Must-Haves for a Magical Day
When you're heading into a Disney park, especially with little ones in tow, what you carry in your bag can truly make or break the day. Between Florida weather, long park hours, and unpredictable toddler moods, having a well-stocked park bag can keep everyone more comfortable, better fed, and stress-free.
Whether you’re using a backpack, diaper bag, or stroller organizer, here are the top items every Disney guest should pack for a smooth day in the parks.
1. Sunscreen
Florida sun can be intense even on cloudy days. Pack a travel-sized sunscreen and reapply throughout the day, especially after water rides or sweaty playground breaks.
2. Hats & Sunglasses
Shade isn’t always easy to find. Hats for both kids and adults help protect faces and necks, and sunglasses make walking around (and watching parades) way more comfortable.
3. Wipes & Hand Sanitizer
Sticky hands are guaranteed. Whether it’s melted ice cream, sunscreen reapplication, or a bathroom with no soap (it happens), wipes and sanitizer are non-negotiable.
4. Refillable Water Bottles
You can get free cups of ice water at any Disney quick-service location, or refill your own bottles at water stations around the parks. Staying hydrated helps keep energy (and moods!) up all day long.
5. Snacks
Even with Disney’s amazing food, having a few familiar snacks on hand for your toddler is a lifesaver. Our go snack items are applesauce pouches, crackers, granola bars, or fruit snacks. We also bring small lollipops for waiting in line as a special treat.
6. Ponchos or Compact Umbrella
Florida weather is famously unpredictable. A lightweight poncho (especially for sudden afternoon rain) can save the day and save you from spending $$$ on Disney ones in a downpour. Also remember that most stroller parking is uncovered, so be sure to also have a stroller cover for downpours.
7. Ziplock Bags
You’ll be surprised how handy these are: hold wet clothes, keep snacks dry, store leftover treats, or organize small items like phone chargers or first aid supplies.
8. Change of Clothes (for everyone!)
Between water rides, snack mishaps, and potty accidents, a spare outfit is always a good idea for toddlers. If space allows, pack a clean shirt for yourself, too.
9. Portable Fan or Cooling Towel
Florida heat and humidity are no joke. A stroller fan or small personal fan can make a huge difference on hot days, and cooling towels offer fast relief without much effort.
10. Phone Charger or Portable Battery
Between snapping photos, mobile ordering, and checking wait times, your phone battery won’t last all day. Bring a power bank to stay connected and stress-free.
11. Electrolytes
Stay hydrated in the Florida heat by bringing electrolytes with you in the park. Our go-to is Liquid IV.
12. ParkTickets, IDs & MagicBands
Whether you're using MagicBands, cards, or the app, make sure everyone in your group has what they need to scan into the park, buy snacks, or enter Lightning Lanes.
Bonus: Autograph Book & Pen
If your toddler loves meeting characters, an autograph book is a fun (and lightweight) keepsake. Sharpies or click pens work great for characters with gloves.
Final Tips
Use packing cubes or pouches to organize your bag and find things quickly.
Check bag size requirements if you're using a new backpack.
Bring only what you’ll actually use—you’ll thank yourself when your shoulders aren’t aching by lunch!
